BRUSSELMANS, Michel
Michel BRUSSELMANS (Paris, 12th February 1886 - Brussels, 20th September 1960). He spent most of his life in France.
Michel BRUSSELMANS studied at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with Huberti, Tinel and Gilson. In 1914 he won the Agniez Prize for his symphonic poem “Hélène de Sparte” based on a tragedy by Emile Verhaeren.
His catalogue shows orchestral work, chamber music, songs, choir music, stage music, radio works and film music.
As a composer, he is a representative of the neo-romantic school. His music is often programmatic.
